"As a trainer since 1995, I have been guilty of issuing equipment to new and veteran officers, and telling them, " Just set up your belt to be comfortable for you." Now, I realize that was a serious officer safety mistake. Your system is well researched, practical, quick and gives an officer the best access to his/her equipment. ...After attending your seminar, I got your DVD. All our new officers are shown the video and all of them are now required to set up their duty belt, from the start, with your system."
- Lt. Greg Post (Brunswick, GA)
"His training is impressive and should be required in every academy and police agency in the country. Failure to follow his protocol is a prescription for failure on the streets and failure is NOT an option."
- Jeffrey (Boston, MA)
"I attended Robert Hindi's class on the "Hindi Duty Belt S.A.F.E.T.Y. System. After watching his demonstration, I was amazed that no one has come up with this system sooner. It makes since. It was one of the best courses I have attended. ... Thank you Robert for this great opportunity to acquire knowledge through your S.A.F.E.T.Y. System. This can save lives and injuries to those of us that put our lives on the line daily."
- Patrick (Roosevelt, AZ)
"Your presentation at our in-service training was excellent. I wish that similar training had been available when I started my career. Over the last 20 years, I have periodically rearranged the defensive equipment on my belt, continually trying to make it more accessbile. Unfortunately, every time I rearranged my belt, I would have to retrain and refamiliarize myself with the new configuration. It would have been much easier to set up the belt correctly and practice with the same belt configuration right from the start. Your entire system focuses on keeping the equipment on the front half of the belt so that all the weapons can be drawn with either hand - important for an officer in a fight, and even more important for an officer who has suffered an injury and may have one arm disabled. ... Ideally, this training should be presented to all new recruits at the academy, so they can become accustomed to the location of all their equipment from Day 1. New officers should not have to learn the hard way that placing their baton behind their firearm makes it inaccessbile and too slow to draw. Your belt system is well thought out, tactical, and I'm certain that it will help keep officers safe.
- Michael (government)
"I found that your genuine concern for the well being of fellow officers in the field was what really came through. You have the gift and the drive to get the word out that there is a better way than what we are doing setting up our duty belts. You are not just throwing out some ideas but backing them up with sound logic and testing."
- Chad (Tucson, AZ)
"I thought the training you provided was fantastic. I was already sold on the Hindi Bap in combo with the AutoLock baton.... It was great to get some perspective on the positioning of our duty gear around our belt and test the practical application of getting to our equipment - quickly."
- Robert
"...I thought is was a super presentation and will highly recommend your system..... What you said made sense....I just wish I had known about it sooner. I have over twenty years in law enforcement and have been to a lot of training. I can honestly say that there was only a handful of presentations that really stood out and afterwards you say to yourself that was really good stuff. Your Duty Belt S.A.F.E.TY. System was, definitely one of them."
- Ron (Arizona)
"I was truly impressed by your presentation and was sold on your system with the first fifteen minutes. ...After 28 years of law enforcement to include being a law enforcement firearms and survival trainer, I was willing to change to your system immediately because it is well thought out and allows access to necessary equipment with both hands. ... The new Hindi handcuffing technique you demonstrated is light years ahead of current training practices. ... Finally, I intend to incorporate the "Hindi System" as part of my continued training efforts with my personnel."
- John
"I really enjoyed your training and have taken your advice to heart. I have completely changed my duty belt and have purchased a Monadnock autolock baton and Hindi Baton Cap."
- Daniel (Minneapolis, MN)
"In my opinion, you are a PHD for the law enforcement equiment/duty belt. Your constant pursuit for the most efficient law enforcement equipment is a credit to you and the law enforcement community appreciates your efforts.
- Zachary (NV)
"This was by far the most productive course I've ever had on duty belt setup and equipment deployment. In fact, it's the only time in my 14 years in law enforcement that anyone has systematically, and convincingly, discussed the pros and cons of equipment placement on duty belts. In training, and in the field, we all have opinions about proper placement of equipment and we become used to whatever system we get comfortable with. Every tactical point you discussed was backed up with not only logic and practical discussions, but with some of the most convincing demonstrations I've ever seen. I'm convinced and am now utilizing your system."
- Mark
"In the past I have positioned my OC spray to be my primary intermediate weapon. With my current duty belt setp up, I have never been completely confident in delpoying my baton rapidly enough and I have also had a baton slip out of my hand during training. I am now confident in baton use and am switching to an autolock baton, Hindi cap, and the duty belt set up shown and used by Robert Hindi. I recommend that all law enforcement officerrs attend Hindi's training.
- Jeffrey (Elko, NV)
"I want to take some time and thank you for your presentation. I have to admit I was a little skeptical of a presentation on how to wear a duty belt. My thought process was simple - how long can someone talk about a duty belt? I was humbled. Every little thing you explained about placement on the duty belt made sense. I cannot believe that I have worn my duty belt "incorrectly" for so long. It is amazing that I have not been hurt in the field because of my lack of knowledge. I went home that same evening and changed my duty belt. I felt that I would be a fool to work another night the the old setup. .. I think that your techniques will save somebody's life in the field. Who knows, it could be mine."
- Kelly (Las Vegas, NV)
"I can't thank you enough for the presentation. It seems strange that we spend so much time with training and equipment, and yet have never given a second thought to the placement. The first thing I did when I arrived home was to change my duty belt. Your class clearly showed me my weak areas in regards to ease and accessibility. The hands on demonstrations were the most valuable."
- Don (Medford, OR)
"Great presentation on officer tactics, equipment standards, and use of force options. Your system sets the standard for carry and accessibiity of duty belt tools, Central is positioning and ambidextrous access to items and their arrangement. ... Your course offered insight into alternative methods of escalation and de-escalation of force, proven handcuffing techniques, and placement of life-saving gear, speeding up impact weapon response and deloyment. ... Great course and insights. Would recommend to anyone in the enforcement profession."
- Brenton (government
"I found your presentation to be an eye opener. I wish I had seen it back in 1994 when I first started in law enforcement. ... Thank you for a very educational presentation."
- Christopher (Las Vegas, NV)
"I live my life trying to do things better and safer so I can achieve my goal to come home every night. Your class on the S.A.F.E.T.Y. System is based on common sense, which is what we base our whole careers on as Law Enforcement Officers. Therefore, I can think of no better comments for your class than changing the very way that I have done things in this job for the past 10.5 years, during the lunch break, while attending your class....Most of all, thanks for helping me before a better officer."
- Jon (government)
"I just wanted to let you know the training you provided has benefitted my officers tremendously. They have become more aware of their equipment and the importance of its placement. There is no question this training will improve officer survival."
- Chief Jones (government)
"I learned a lot from your training. I always thought that if I can reach the equipment on my belt, that was enough....Thank you for directing me to look in other directions. I wish I had this 22 years ago."
- Stan (Carson City, NV)
"The feedback I heard from the rank and file officers during my In-Service was very good. I have arranged my duty belt like you suggested and I think that is the ultimate evaluation of your message. I hope you can pass your message of "victory and life" onto other Law Enforcement agencies."
- Mark
"I want to say I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation.. It was informative and very interesting. The videos helped to illustrate what we should NOT be doing and how your system works to our advantage."
- Pat
"Thanks for your presentation. I hit mandatory retirement in three years, but for the rest of my career, I'm going to follow your system. I'm living proof: You can teach an old dog new tricks."
- Randy
"I have watched your DVD 4 times in the last 24 hours. Your techniques are so simple and obvious I feel stupid for not thinking of them myself! I have shared the DVD with my entire squad and I believe we are all at home tonight moving the gear on our duty belts."
- James (government)
"I was impressed with your presentation."
- Earl (Austin, TX)
"I really enjoyed your seminar in Marana, AZ. Your system gave me some good insight as to location of tools and accessibility of them on the duty belt. Keep up the good work and be safe. ...Thanks again for the training. It is very useful to everyone in law enforcement."
- Brian (California City, CA)
"The beauty of what you've done is further enhanced, logically, when I as an administrator look at the potential mitigation to agency and officer liability simply based on an officer's access to any piece of equipment. The "HINDI DUTY BELT S.A.F.E.T.Y. SYSTEM" is clearly the most logical and defensible way for anyone to position their equipment for its deployment in any law enforcement situation. In my opinion, all uniform law enforcement officers across the county should adopt the Hindi S.A.F.E.T.Y. System to decrease personal liability and increase officer safety."
- Troy (government)
"I want to say your presentation was very energetic and informative. Although I have arranged my belt similar to how your presentation shows, I found your take to be better for most applications and made those changes. ...in the overall review of this year's National In-Service Training was the need to compare your approach to other Control Tactics issues with our policies and either resolve the inconsistencies or endorse some of your points."
- Scott (Cedar City, UT)
"Wow! I watched the video and can tell you that I am now a believer. ... You look like a very dangerous man!"
- Darwin (RCMP - CANADA)
"I have changed the configuration on my duty belt and I can feel the difference. ... Thanks, it is a great system."
- Shane (government)
"I am a fairly small female officer, approximately 5'4", 125 lbs. As you can imagine, the duty belt gets very uncomfortable, bruises my hips, and I am always running out of room. I am always struggling to keep space on my back open, but I have never been able to keep it clear. ... After your training, I moved my flashlight behind my gun, got rid of my cell phone and leatherman, and for the first time, actually have the back part of my belt empty. For the first time, I feel balanced. I have no back pains, and my equipment seems more accessible. Thanks again, I truly feel like this is life-saving information."
- Stephanie (government)
